Ten days gives you time to appreciate the contrast between a busy city, the Mekong Delta's river life and the breezy coast. The places are spread out, and some experiences – a dawn market boat ride or sunset at the dunes – happen on their own schedule. A dedicated car makes it easier to leave early, keep your luggage with you between hotels and pause for a meal or photo when the day allows.

Suggested 10-day Southern Vietnam itinerary

Day 1 — Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City. Meet your driver at Tan Son Nhat Airport or your city address and transfer to your hotel. Keep the evening free to rest or explore around Ben Thanh Market. An airport meet-and-greet procedure and any late-flight waiting terms will be shown in your quote.

Day 2 — Ho Chi Minh City and the Cu Chi Tunnels. Take a day trip to the tunnels, then return to the city. If you prefer a gentler day, stay in town for the Central Post Office area, markets and a food stop instead. Cu Chi is about 70 km northwest of central Ho Chi Minh City; allow for traffic and time at the site.

Day 3 — Ho Chi Minh City → Ben Tre → Can Tho. Leave the city for coconut country. Consider a prearranged boat ride along Ben Tre's smaller canals, a coconut workshop or a countryside lunch. Continue to Can Tho for the night. Boat rides and entrance fees need separate confirmation.

Day 4 — Can Tho → Chau Doc. Start early if you want to visit Cai Rang Floating Market by hired boat. After breakfast, drive toward Chau Doc. Spend the afternoon around its riverside market or visit a floating fish farm when available. Overnight in Chau Doc.

Day 5 — Chau Doc → Sa Dec → Ho Chi Minh City. Choose an early visit to Sam Mountain or Tra Su cajeput forest if you have arranged it ahead. On the way back, Sa Dec offers a worthwhile break for its flower nurseries and riverside streets. This is a longer road day; fitting both a substantial morning excursion and Sa Dec into it may require an early start or a simpler plan.

Day 6 — Ho Chi Minh City → Vung Tau → Ho Tram. Head for the coast. Stop in Vung Tau for sea views, a stroll or lunch, then continue to Ho Tram for an unhurried evening. You may also drive straight to Ho Tram if you would rather spend more time at the beach.

Day 7 — Ho Tram → Mui Ne. Follow the southeast coast toward Mui Ne. Ask for a coastal-road stop only after the route and driving time have been checked for your travel date. Arrive with time for a beach walk or seafood dinner.

Day 8 — Mui Ne at your pace. Choose an early excursion to the White Sand Dunes, a walk at Fairy Stream or the fishing harbour; the Red Sand Dunes are another option later in the day. Dune vehicles and activities are separate services. Alternatively, keep the day free at your resort.

Day 9 — Mui Ne → Ho Chi Minh City. Enjoy a relaxed morning before returning to the city. A direct Mui Ne–Ho Chi Minh City drive is often described as around four hours, but allow additional time for traffic, pickup location and breaks. Spend the final night in the city to make departure day easier.

Day 10 — Ho Chi Minh City or Tan Son Nhat Airport drop-off. Your driver transfers you from the hotel to the airport or another agreed city address. Share your flight details when requesting the quote so the final pickup can be planned with a suitable time buffer.

What should the complete quote cover?

Ask for one written transport total based on your 10 days, hotel locations, agreed route, stops and service hours. The quote should explicitly state whether it includes fuel, road tolls, parking, the driver's meals and overnight accommodation, airport pickup, waiting time and taxes or required invoices. It should separately identify any charge for a route change, excess hours, late pickup or additional stop.

Hotels, meals, attraction tickets, boats, dune rides and local guides should be treated as outside the car service unless your written proposal expressly includes them. What makes a ten-day trip through Southern Vietnam memorable is the change in rhythm. In Ho Chi Minh City, start with a walk around the central streets and a meal you have time to enjoy. Visit the Cu Chi Tunnels if wartime history interests you; the site deserves time rather than a hurried photo stop. Travelers who would rather stay in the city can trade that day for markets, museums and neighborhood food.

The Mekong Delta calls for slower mornings. Ben Tre is a good first introduction to small waterways and coconut-growing countryside. Continue to Can Tho and plan your floating-market outing for dawn, when the river is most atmospheric. Because the market is a working place rather than a staged attraction, what you see changes from day to day. Chau Doc adds a different perspective through its riverside market and the mix of communities around the Hau River. If you choose a boat trip at Tra Su, allow enough time and arrange it separately. On the return journey, Sa Dec rewards a short pause among flower nurseries and older streets.

Then change scenery again. Vung Tau makes a lively seaside lunch stop before a quieter night in Ho Tram. Mui Ne is the natural place to slow down: choose a dune outing at a comfortable hour, walk through Fairy Stream, watch fishing boats or simply keep an afternoon free. The White and Red Sand Dunes offer distinct views, and some activities require their own tickets or operators. The road transport is arranged for your party in a private vehicle with a driver. Sightseeing guides, boats and attraction services are separate unless expressly included in your confirmed proposal.

How long is the full route?

It runs over 10 calendar days and 9 nights. Driving time varies significantly by leg. As a rough reference, Vietnam Tourism describes Mui Ne as about four hours from Ho Chi Minh City and places Cu Chi about 70 km from the city center. The Delta legs, coastal route, traffic and sightseeing stops need to be planned for your dates, rather than added up as one fixed journey time.

Can you pick us up at Tan Son Nhat Airport or our hotel?

Both are possible pickup requests. Provide your flight number, landing time or hotel address. Your confirmed quote should state the meeting point and any airport waiting allowance.

Can the tour finish at Tan Son Nhat Airport?

Yes, request an airport drop-off on Day 10. The proposed schedule includes a Ho Chi Minh City night on Day 9 to leave a more practical buffer before a flight.

Are sightseeing stops flexible?

Yes, ask for your preferred stops when planning. We will check the route, opening hours and driving time; a detour, separate operator or extra hours may affect the final quote.

Are Cai Rang market and Tra Su forest visited by car?

The car takes you to an agreed departure or entrance point. River and forest experiences require a separate boat service; their availability and cost should be confirmed for your date.
